View Full Version : Jeff Bezos' New Row Boat Caroline13 03-06-2023, 01:39 PM https://www.thestreet.com/retail/jeff-bezos-launches-expensive-new-yacht I don't shop at his STORE, so I don't support his new toy...:eek: GentlemanJim 03-06-2023, 01:59 PM Nice boat. I think it is good when the super rich put money in other people's pockets, lots of boat builders got lots of paydays out of this. We could grouse about the disequities of the system that allows some individuals to amasse such wealth while others live with poverty, but that would be political, so I won't go there other than to say my gripe is with the system more than with Bezos. Cold day in the moderator zone before Bezos would ever dream of inviting me aboard, I do realize that Wonder what type of armed security he maintains onboard? Yong Fang 03-06-2023, 02:21 PM I have mentioned this before, but Amazon is a horrible company for the warehouse workers and drivers. The drivers are not even technically employees of Amazon but “contractors”, although they wear the Amazon penis logo and drive a penis logo truck. Bozos had basically mandates that front line employees are to be dismissed after three years of service because he believes that the worker will be complacent and not work as hard. That is if they survive being in that warehouse with minimal breaks and the break room a 10 minute walk one way and distant bathrooms which makes it difficult for the worker to properly relieve themselves and also of fear of not making quota and getting fired by the computer (seriously). Not to mention his organized and methodical union busting. Bozo is a bastard of first rate descended from the late 19th Century robber barons. Since this is a mostly entertainment board, I once looked up the wealth of A List actor Tom Hanks. Bozo is FIVE HUNDRED TIMES the wealth of Hanks. Think of that. Incredible wealth, so much so, it just buys all the power and influence one could ever want. From what I have read about the warehouse conditions and how Bozo feels about his expendable employees who have to urinate in bottles to make his precious quota, I won’t spend a penny with Amazon. I wouldn’t buy from that ********** if he sold IPads for ten cents. Lastly, to show myself how wealthy Bozo Caroline13 03-06-2023, 02:37 PM On boat owners, whatever people want to own, let em. Boats are purely a hole in the water that keeps needing to get filled with money money money..... I live close to a Marina where 1000's of boats are docked and many never move, and a lot of them serve as a home for the owners....so a houseboat of various types. biffbronson 03-07-2023, 09:06 AM Careful when waterskiing, Jeff: 286710 GentlemanJim 03-07-2023, 11:46 AM It's peculiar, IMO that a person would want to devote such a large piece of their lives to being a titan of business. I understand that abundance is nice. But these guys in the top 2%....just seems like I'd hang my hat at about 10%, and enjoy the rest of my life. 30 years ago I worked for a guy who was darn near a billionaire, back when that was a lot of money. And he was one of the most unhappy people I knew. Everyday it was "push push push" for more money, and gut ripping agony whenever something fell short. I guess they get kinda hooked on the control aspect, gives them a sense of purpose? Different strokes I guess Caroline13 03-07-2023, 01:49 PM who knows what makes the billionaires of the NEW MONEY tick.... we've had plenty of very rich people from the Old Money world and certainly didn't have the social media of today.... I can't help but think of the poor people in our country who will be starving...food costs are out of control. I'm hearing more and more food banks are begging for food and then there is Hard Hearted Bezos' heart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GentlemanJim 03-07-2023, 02:47 PM .Of course, a "will to compete" is a big part of what drives such people to excel, speculating perhaps there is an obsessive disorder that makes such people get "hooked" on the compete? Out of the elite 2%, what could possibly be more rewarding than flaunting in the other's faces what you thought of, that they didn't? Will Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, and Elon Musk be getting invites for a ride on the Bezos boat? |
