When it comes to our best friends and "I don't mean human friends" I am referring to our pets we always want the best for our pet best friends. In the 1970's actor Lorne Greene became the spokesman for Alpo and when you see these commercials you'll understand why Lorne gave the saying Man's Best Friend a new meaning for these commercials. The dogs seen in the commercials are Lorne Greene's actual dogs and they did a great job in these commercials and I wonder how Alpo picked Lorne Greene to be their spokesman? Lorne was seen in the commercials until he retired from Alpo as spokesman in 1981 but he did a wonderful job with his dogs and it's shocking that you don't see dog food commercials like this today
