If my memory is correct, he sort of invites himself and Chrissy says ok, it will just be one more hamburger. He sort of bribes her to say he will order flowers from Janet if someone invites him to a nice beach BBQ. At least that is my memory. Janet needs to be left behind for the premise of the episode to work. Chrissy stole the hot guy coming to see Janet yet Chrissy was casual about it and thought she was doing Janet a favor. Janet not only loses the hot guy but also does not get invited to the BBQ which sets Janet off. When Chrissy gets home, she does not understand why Janet is upset.

yeah you right now I think about it. It was just odd she was going to show up with some strange me she barely knew instead of atleast asking janet would she be interested in going . And you are right Janet ends up home alone without spending time with a hot guy lol I think that was only episode where one of the female roomates had their OWN PLANS that didnt involve the other two
