TV veteran John Schneider announced in a February 22 Facebook post (https://www.facebook.com/johnschneiderstudios/posts/pfbid0n9JswoPRGtQ5UnZExEwaEBn8gCdX9peKygYZy6z96u7JDHVs4kFqMAsTmLm4FXgVl?__cft__%5B0%5D=AZWVryk4hs9nNwKQvZCUfRttNNNFTZ0UWbaOJUhKrcnn7yJgX7VU_U-YdPFoQNOC0SxvVoWd2T2KqMLk5W3-PoOyMCB7Ey2MN1JYWTw3aA2atYkYHX-8JWEhtbnzEo0FqlIkA3nZrOhDFjOQ2Iq46E1H&__tn__=%2CO%2CP-R) that his wife Alicia Allain has died from breast cancer at 53. Uploading a photo of Allain smiling and one of their hands intertwined, the "Dukes of Hazzard" alum wrote, "My beautiful smile is pain-free, living in her new body alongside Jesus ... Hug those you love tight and let them know how you feel. We always did." Schneider, who also famously portrayed Jonathan Kent on CW's "Smallville," asked fans to share "any pictures of us and our obvious love and adoration for each other" accrued over the years.
Allain first revealed her cancer on a 2020 episode of "Fox and Friends," (https://www.foxnews.com/video/6124347374001) sharing that she was diagnosed with stage 4 HER2 negative cancer over Memorial Day Weekend 2019. (HER2 negative cancer cells tend to grow more slowly and are less likely to recur or spread.) Discovering a possible issue with her skin and seeing a dermatologist for the diagnosis, Allain was already "three years into a five-year shelf life," Schneider told "Fox and Friends" in the joint interview.
Also her husband's business manager, Allain is survived by her daughter, Jessica, from a previous marriage as well as stepchildren Chasen, Karis, and Leah, and a stepdaughter. An obituary (https://www.wilbertservices.com/obituary/alicia-schneider) from Los Angeles' Wilbert Funeral Home called the Hollywood producer a "mama bear that protected all her cubs" and "a fighter until the end."

by Shania Russell

"The Dukes of Hazzard" star John Schneider recently made his first Hollywood appearance since losing his wife, Alicia Allain, in February — and he used it to honor her memory.
While attending the Drinks With DeeDee Sorvino cabaret show in Los Angeles, Schneider spoke to the Daily Mail about his plan to release a new album dedicated to his late spouse. Allain, who died after a four-year battle with cancer, was his marital partner and creative partner — the couple composed music and produced movies together.
Now, as a tribute to their love, the actor has vowed to continue their work.
"My bride Alicia and I did our own movies and our own music, so we didn't work for anybody," Schneider said. "So that was very, very helpful. Now that my much, much, much better half is not here but waiting for me, I am trying to honor her professionalism and trying to honor her skill."
Schneider said that his new album, We're Still Us, is "all about her." While he feels "very proud" of how the music turned out, he added that it was a particularly difficult project.
"I do believe it's helpful, but honestly, I don't see a time where this doesn't hurt like hell," he said of the record. "It hurt so bad to write. It hurt so bad to sing. But the final product is going to be healing for those who are going through this… statistically speaking, two people get married, one of them is going to die first."
Schneider also noted his commitment to helping others who have lost their significant others, expressing his hope that his healing journey will encourage them to see the importance of their relationships.
"There's a huge demographic of people who've lost a spouse out there, and people are afraid to talk about it," he said. "So we really have no support system. Now, did I ever dream in my wildest imagination that I would be a well-educated support system for people who lost the loves of their lives? No, but that's where I am."
With tears in his eyes, he added, "So that's what I'll do."
Schneider, who wed Allain in 2019, said their partnership will continue even now: "She and I are going to do remarkable, great things because of this. Not in spite of it, but because of this."
He added that he expects to one day be reunited with her in heaven. "I did not lose her. I know where she is, and one of these days — if I do not screw it up — I will meet her there. It is up to me now."

JamesG 08-31-2023, 01:12 AM John Schneider Reveals "Lie I had To Tell" in his Final Words to Wife Alicia
by Lester Fabian Brathwaite
August 30, 2023
John Schneider is a "long way" from okay, but he's taking the recent death of his wife Alicia Allain in stride.
In his first sit-down interview since Allain died after a four-year battle with breast cancer back in February, the "Dukes of Hazzard" star revealed to PEOPLE the final words he spoke to his wife and the lie he "had to tell" her at the end of her life.
"I, of course, told her it was OK," the 63-year-old actor told PEOPLE. "'If you're tired, if you want to go see your grandma, you want to go see your grandpa, if you want to go, then it's OK. You go.' And that was all the truth."
Through tears, Schneider continued, "But then I lied, because I said, 'Don't worry about me; I'll be OK.' That was a lie I had to tell, but she knew it. OK is a long way away."
Though Schneider stuck by Allain throughout her entire sickness, he was not present for her final moments — he thinks she might have waited for him not to be present to pass because "she knew I couldn't handle it." But he still made sure Allain knew how he felt about her before dying.
"The last thing I said to her was, 'I love you desperately, and I've got multiple sets of very long-term plans for you,'" Schneider said. "And that's true, because eternity's a very long time, and I believe it. I'm counting on it."

JamesG 09-02-2023, 10:27 PM John Schneider Gets First Tattoo to Honor his Late Wife
by Christian Holub
Sept. 1, 2023
John Schneider is determined to remember his late wife forever. In order to do so, the former "Dukes of Hazzard" actor got his first-ever tattoo: a print of Alicia Allain Schneider's thumb on his hand, "where her thumb would be if she was holding my hand." See the tattoo in the current issue of PEOPLE.
"That's where her thumb was most hours of the day," Schneider told PEOPLE. "It didn't take any thought. It didn't take anything. It just popped into my head."
Schneider credits God with giving him the inspiration for the tattoo, and says it's gotten a positive reaction from everyone he's shown it to.
"That's not me. That's got to be God," Schneider said. "Inspiration like that has to be, because when the tattoo guy did it, he said, 'I've never done this, what a great idea.' And he's probably done 3,000 tattoos and had 4,000 himself. And then, everyone I show it to, most of the time, male, female, young or old, they cry right away. It's like, 'That's great.'"
