The Jack Benny Program has been likewise off my radar for the majority of my life. Hazel Anyday 04-11-2023, 07:01 PM The Jack Benny Show is a very funny show. One of the few that can make me laugh out loud. His radio show esp. those of the mid to late '40s thru the 1950s was also very very funny. I remember watching the Jack Benny specials that were in color in the mid to late '60s and early '70's. Also saw the Benny b/w tv shows when they were shown as re-runs back in the '60's. Later in the '70's I discovered his radio shows and they were one of the funniest radio shows on. That and the Phil Harris Alice Faye radio show were 2 of the funniest. As for Bachelor Father I still am watching it every Friday. When I ran thru all the episodes a couple years ago I thought I'd give it up for a while and watch another show on Friday. But after a couple weeks I missed it so I went back to watching it again all over. Now I'm currently almost done with the series for the 2nd time, I've now seen every episode twice. But this time I'm not going to give it up I'm going back to DVD 1 and watch the series again. One thing, when you watch it only once a week you never get tired of it and actually look forward to seeing it again a week later. It would be nice if they ran the complete series on TV, they skip a lot of episodes. Fortunately I don't rely on live TV for watching, I watch it from DVD. At first I thought they skipped the episodes with songs in them as sometimes there will be singing guest stars like Patti Page and Frankie Laine, but I see now there are many episodes they skip that don't involve singing at all. No reason for them to be skipped. Hopefully they'll show them all one day. But I've now seen every episode so I know that is true, no reason for the skipping on broadcast TV. |
