One of the Golden Girls from the popular 1980s NBC sitcom found herself hitched in the most unexpected way in the 1992 series finale.

It was a great ending for a great show. The way the other girls, particularly Blanche and Sophia, teased Dorothy, it was wonderful to see her as the one who remarried. Of course we all thought Blanche would be the one to, but nope, fortune smiled on Dorothy! The only thing that didn't make sense is that Sophia stayed behind with the other two. In reality, she would have gone to live with either Dorothy or one of her other daughters.

I’m so glad they didn’t do the “let’s have a wedding at the house!” trope.
