Ryan Seacrest Announces he will Leave "Live!" This Spring; Replacement is Mark Consuelos

After six seasons, Ryan Seacrest announced on today’s "Live! with Kelly and Ryan" that he is leaving the syndicated show.

Kelly Ripa, who has hosted the show since 2001, will be joined by actor and husband, Mark Consuelos, and the show will be rebranded as "Live! with Kelly and Mark".




Seacrest plans to head back to the west coast where he will remain part of the ABC Entertainment family, continuing to host "American Idol" and "Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest".

Seacrest will transition this spring as he prepares for "American Idol" live shows in Los Angeles.

Mark Consuelos will soon to be Kelly Ripa’s 3rd Live Co-Host at her age(Both Michael Strahan & Ryan Seacrest were the other two) since Regis’ 2011 Retirement.

To me why I think the real reason why Ryan Seacrest is leaving Live With Kelly And Ryan is because of money reasons and personal reasons as well. Because every time when Ryan Seacrest had to take absences from the show they always claimed it was due to "health problems" and then they would claim he had a bad illness and needed to recover but Ryan always came back to the show healthy. But what I think caused Ryan Seacrest to quit Live With Kelly And Ryan was that he demanded more money with a bigger contract and when they wouldn't give it to him he told producers that he'd quit if he didn't get what he deserved and so now he's leaving the show for good. But I think once Mark Consuelos debuts on Live With Kelly And Mark I think the ratings will get weak and after one season the show will not get renewed and get cancelled. Because ever since Regis Philbin retired as the original Live host Kelly Ripa has not had a successful cohost because Michael Strahan quit and now Ryan Seacrest is gonna be gone and I will say that if Live With Kelly And Mark fails the show will go belly up. I wonder what Regis Philbin would think of all this if he was still alive today?

ABC on Monday announced that Ryan Seacrest will make his final appearance as host of "Live! with Kelly and Ryan" on Friday, April 14.

Then on Monday, April 17, Mark Consuelos will make his debut as Kelly Ripa’s new cohost, at which point the morning show will be rebranded as "Live! with Kelly and Mark".

“Gosh I don’t know with them together,” tweeted one viewer. “I am not a fan. Loved Ryan and all his stories, he brought another layer to the show.

“Kelly and Mark look uncomfortable together, it’s hard to watch. Mark as a fill in cohost was fun to watch. This isn’t fun to watch anymore. Need Ryan back.”

“Painful! When does Mark get to finish his own sentences??” noted one less-than-impressed fan. “Annoying, changed the channel. Bye-bye Live!

Another added, “So I’m sorry but this won’t work. It’s like a morning reality show with a washed up couple. I’m sure the higher up see it. I’m sure there nice people but ya no go.”

The pair do have their supporters with one fan admonishing the critics.

“Give him time…he’s nervous.”

The duo received decidedly mixed reviews for their debut show on ABC as permanent co-hosts with Ripa, 52, being accused of talking over and interrupting her husband, also 52.

“I am so happy to see Mark & Kelly this morning….But Kelly could PLEASE LET HIM TALK….!!! OMG…! Let him start and finish a story his way…It’s the only way it’s going work,” another person wrote.
