There was a thread about an early 80's appearance of Raquel Welch on the Tonight Show right at the end of last year, it had been so long since her name had been mentioned. It was shocking to read that she passed away this morning at the age of 82.

Interesting that Alan Brady above said she poked fun at her own image. She was actually notorious for being impossible to work with chiefly because she was so obsessed with her own image and threw tantrums when she thought she wasn't being filmed from the best angle or didn't look glamorous enough, even when she wasn't supposed to look glamorous. She was told by directors that she'd be much more successful as an actor if she wasn't so concerned with how she looked but she never changed.

She he hasn't been seen much in public lately and I always surmised that she was too vain to be seen in her old age, but that's just a guess.
