I had to read that book for last year. It was a pretty good book (and I don't say that often). I also like Of Mice and Men.

I LOVE the Wizard of Oz books. Only the first 14 by the original author are the best.

I also love Stephen King.

I like to read Laurell K. Hamilton's "Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter" series. It's like an R-rated Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

"To Kill A Mockingbird" was a pretty good book. I think it was by Harper Lee. Another good one is "The Sign of The Beaver," of course I haven't read it in ages so I don't remember a thing about it, but that's another story. I have to agree with Jenny about "Of Mice and Men" and uhh, EB White has always been one of my favorite authors. Of course she only wrote three books. :( All which have been made into films/ cartoons. "Bridge to Terbithia" was also a good one, and lastly any R.L Stine book. :)

And oh yeah, add "Gifted Hands" by Dr. Ben Carson, as well. It's one of the only biographies I actually enjoy reading. He has pretty interesting things to say..

I am going to be the unusual one, and name names that you've probably never heard. I don't like many of the classics,

Little Women, Of Mice and Men, The Great Gatsby, The Glass Menagerie, I never liked them. I did, however, enjoy To Kill a Mockingbird.

I used to really like Stephen King, but not much anymore. I enjoy Dean Koontz ocassionally, and Robin Cook, but still haven't read much of their recent work.

I have, however, recently read a lot of Lori Wick, and Janette Okes. I love their work. I also have become deeply intruiged by Tim LaHaye, and Jerry Jenkin's series, Left Behind. I was totally amazed at their work, and scared out of my mind at what could possibly be in the future. I'm just really thankful that I won't be here to have to experience it first hand.

Also, there is this book that I read in middle school, and I cannot remember the name. But it was written by a woman name Cornelia ten Boom. I would recommend it to anyone, that is, if I could remember the name.

It was set in post WWII, and through WWII in Germany. She her sisters were grown woman, but still living at home with their family. She shares her experiences before and during the war, as they harbored Jewish refugees, and were captured and placed in concentration camps for their practices, though when they are caught, their refugees remain safe in the house.

She loses both her sister and father in the camp as she tells how, by the grace of God, she and her sister for many years, are spared in various different ways, in which they could not have possibly been spared without a miracle. Her release, even, was Divine, because she returned to the camp many years later, to find that she was released due to a typographical error, and the following week of her release, she had been scheduled for termination.

If you find this book, I would recommend you read it. I have been humbled by the struggles they endured, remaining strong in faith, in the face of their persecutors. This strength is far greater than any I have exhibited, or probably will ever be capable of putting forth.

To summarize, it's about this girl named Francie Nolan, she lives in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. She has a brother, Neeley. Her father is a drunk. Her mother works long hours to support their family, and her Aunt Sissy is a little too "sissy," lol. She likes to read, and is fascinated with almost everything. The family moves around a lot. And the book mostly refers to her problems, how she solved them, and her growing up.
