Honestly, I am against "cancel culture" and the new leftist Hollywood ideology (they call it "woke" but I dislike this term and like to use leftist instead). I like Roseanne Barr. She's nuts and a loudmouth, and came up from nothing to be famous. I can admire that.

But, this is what she said (probably drunk or intoxicated), from an article online....

"In a now-deleted (Twitter Message), Barr wrote that (Valarie) Jarrett looked like “the Muslim brotherhood & Planet of the Apes had a baby.”

For me, more than anything, it makes me wonder if Rosie isn't literally mentally off. She had trouble in the later seasons of her original show for being crazy too. This is also arguably racist in scope. Also, has Roseanne Barr ever even met Valarie Jarrett? I doubt many Americans even knew who the hell she was, so why her? Jarrett for her part has never sued Barr for this. Maybe she wouldnt have a case, but this is slander and she was not a public official, or if she was arguably was one, a very minor one.

I guess one could argue that this might be a double standard and if Barr Twitter Messaged that Donald Trump is the child of an Organgatan, there would'nt have been an issue. But Trump is a public official and celebrity, Jarrett wasn't.

If I went on this Message Board (and to the Moderators, you are very fair and have been good to me and I do sometimes say borderline stuff), if I went to the Webster (TV show) thread and started a message of "Webster was a cute little n-word", but used the n-word itself, I would be BANNED. Should I be? America has "Free Speech" and the First Amendment but it does not mean that someone cannot be punished in the private sector for their words.

The Conners has been on for five or six seasons now and I guess it has good enough ratings to be on that long so she isnt that missed and anyone angered about Barr's firing stopped watching it after the first season she was on.

I wish her luck and will definitely watch whatever project she does in the future. I liked the lady but she screwed up.
