Not what they used to be. NHL does three 20 minute 3 on 3 games. NBA one usually ends up with some score like 200-199. And the Pro Bowl was so lame the NFL had to mercy kill it. Only the MLB game actually still feels like a real game.

I agree, All Star games have run their course, I was hoping Football would be the first to break the ice on this one and just give up. This year it was my understanding they were playing a 7 on 7 flag football game, what sense does that make, they might as well play pickle ball! With highlights of every game available on multiple platforms for every sport the exhibition of the best players in this format makes no sense. The NFL got the players to agree to a 17 game schedule, if they can push to 18 they can schedule the Super Bowl on the holiday weekend the networks, will go nuts for that and then just 86 the Pro Bowl altogether.

I don't agree with your assessment on baseball, their All-Star Game is just as bad as the rest of them. There are so many players on the roster (I think it's 35) with changes so frequent that the game is incomprehensible. I think they should replace it with the Field of Dreams game. Hockey can do one of their outdoor games to replace their All-Star Game.

The entire concept is so played out.

Yes, MLB game basically changes pitchers every inning and swaps out other players almost as often. And yes do they now do things like interview players on the field during games. And yes, I believe that now if it's tied after 9 they'll have a home run derby to decide the winner. But at its heart I still think it plays like a legitimate 9 inning game.

I do like your idea of a Patrick Mahomes- Aaron Rodgers pickleball match. I'd watch.

I can only enjoy the MLB All-Star games. The NHL and NBA All-Star games were better in the 1980s and 1990s. They are just too high scoring. The games lack the intensity of the regular season and playoffs.

The skills competitions are better than the actual All-Star games.
