This case was featured in UM but it was known as the "Tara Calico Case".

The case is pretty known so I'm not gonna explain it here.

The girl in the photo was believed to be Tara Calico but then she was called "Gulf County Jane Doe" by investigators.

I checked recently and her case was closed without explanation. The boy's case was also closed.

Do you know what happened? i don't think she was identified as Tara.

Maybe the photo was discovered to be fake? I have searched but i couldnt find an explanation.

:confused::confused::confused:

There's an updated article from 2022 here (yes I know it's a tabloid publication)
https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/19135143/mystery-teenage-girl-vanished-bike-ride-stalked/

"Last year, a fresh tip led to a raid on a house in Belen, New Mexico.

Yes, i heard that story before: she was hit by a car, the boys took her and killed her after abusing her. One of the boys was the Sheriff's son, so the police did a cover-up.

There's also a version of the story where the boys killed her by accident. This version came from the Valencia County Sheriff.

I don't think Tara is the girl on the polaroid photo.

But if that's the case, who is that girl?

Why is the missing person profile closed for her and the boy without explanation?

I'm fairly certain I read on here less than 6 months ago that the girl was located alive and well by authorities in the late 1990's, working at a flea market in Florida. Search the forum for "flea market" and something should come up.

Thank you for the answer, it seems they found the girl alive and well a few years after the photo was found.

Who knows what other mysteries are already solved but remain unsolved to us?
