Who knew wearing shorts and gowns could cause backlash?

If you can accept the fact that GI was essentially theater of the absurd and a live-action cartoon, you can accept the endlessly incongruous nature of the show. For me, the show is totally about nostalgia. It's a throwback to childhood and a simpler time of life.

Ginger famously had one gown made from salvaged sails from the wreck

The Gilligan's Island wiki mentions Gilligan's dufflebag as the source material for Ginger's dress, with some contradiction noted:

https://gilligan.fandom.com/wiki/Ginger#Outfits

There's mention elsewhere of one of her dresses having been made from a Minnow blanket.

I had not seen any claim of the ship's sails; sailcloth likely would be too stiff to make a dress from, and did the Minnow even have sails?

How ironic is it that in the 80's they'd be in micro bikinis but today they'd be transsexual lesbians who'd be covered head to toe in tattoos and burlap so you couldn't see anything.
