New "The Good Wife" Spin-off Centered on Carrie Preston's Elsbeth Tascioni Scores CBS Pilot Order

"The Good Wife" fan favorite Elsbeth Tascioni is moving to New York City as the star of her very own show.

CBS has handed a pilot order to "Elsbeth", a spin-off starring Carrie Preston as the seemingly scatterbrained but brilliant lawyer that was first introduced on "The Good Wife", TVLine has learned.



In the potential series, which is being targeted for the 2023-24 season:

“After her successful career in Chicago, Elsbeth Tascioni, an astute but unconventional attorney, utilizes her singular point of view to make unique observations and corner brilliant criminals alongside the NYPD.” r



"The Good Wife" creators Robert and Michelle King will pen the pilot, which will be directed by Robert King. The duo also serve as executive producers alongside Liz Glotzer (of King Size Productions).

Wendell Pierce & Carra Patterson Join Carrie Preston in CBS’ "Elsbeth"

Wendell Pierce and Carra Patterson have been tapped as leads opposite Carrie Preston in the CBS drama pilot "Elsbeth".

Pierce plays Captain Wagner, a New York police Captain who owns every room that he enters. Experienced and charismatic, Wagner is the toast of the department.

Patterson plays Officer Kaya Blanke, a stoic, ethical New York police officer who’s used to being overlooked by her superiors.

CBS has handed a series order to "The Good Wife" spin-off "Elsbeth", starring Carrie Preston. It will air during the 2023-24 season and will be joined by "Tracker", starring Justin Hartley, which formerly was known as "The Never Game" and was ordered to series in December.

CBS isn’t specifying episode orders, particularly given the current writers strike.
