Did anyone see 'Change of Habit' on AMC today or yesterday? lol In the words of MTM herself, it was "a dreadful little movie", but entertaining nonetheless to see her and Elvis together. Though I must say I wanted to break through the screen and beat the $&#! out of the creep who tried to rape her in that one part. ::shudder:: Anyway, just wondering if anyone else had seen it and what their thoughts were.

PS-Has anyone seen "Thoroughly Modern Millie" and if so, is it worth seeing?

I watched it yesterday and it was actually pretty decent. certainly not the best movie ever but not too shabby nonetheless.

Just some looney, you just have to see the movie.

And while we're on the subject, maybe I'm thick, but did it end really weird to you? Ok, Elvis is singing in the chapel and all that, and then Mary looks at all the religious symbols on the walls and gets this meaningful look on her face and then it ends all of a sudden. I thought they were going to explain that, like she realized that the church was really where she belonged or something, but then it's just like you run in to a brick wall and that's it. Hmmm... Whatever.

maybe it was one of those movies where you interpret your own idea on what happened. maybe you saw it as that was a sign that she was going to keep being a nun or that god or something wanted her to raise a family and go with elvis. i don't know i'm actually just rambling on.

lol It's ok, I think you make a good point. I'll just pretend that she left the nunnery and married Elvis then. :)

Yes I remember "Change of Habit", as a kid it was my favorite "Elvis" movie becuz it was so different than most of his other films. He and Mary worked well together. Elvis looked great (this was to be his last acting role--he would still star in two documentary films--That's the Way it is and something else in 1973). Also, nobody mentioned the fact that Ed Asner was in "Change of Habit" too!! he was the police officer. He and Mary have no scenes together though. No, I think Mary continues to be a nun and the Elvis character eventually marries the other woman who actually did give up being a nun.

Someone asked about "Thourougly Modern Millie" and yes I've seen it (occassionally pops up on AMC or TCM) and in my opinion it isn't very good. But it is a curiosity piece and interesting to see Mary in a big screen musical with Julie Andrews and Carol Channing.

It is kind of sad but in my opinion with the notable exception of "Ordinary People" and her great character part in "Flirting with Disaster" Mary's feature films (not talking tv-movies) have not been any great shakes.
