When you handwrite something, how do you tend to do it?

I write in cursive (script).

I have friends who are public school teachers and they tell me that penmanship is no longer taught in schools. All assignments are done online and students type their class notes, so there’s no reason to physically write anything.

I am fully capable of cursive, and if I'm preparing a 500+ word document, then that is the way I go.

But, my cursive is challenging for some others to read, so on anything a paragraph or two...I always print just to avoid the "what's this word?" monotony.

And, then I have my signature, a combination of cursive first letters and "speed squiggles" that looks just enough like writing that people seldom question it.

I always print, except when signing something. We were taught cursive in elementary school but that was the last time I used it in any real sense.

Cursive, I don't print well any more. I learned cursive in 3rd grade and instantly took to it as a faster way of writing

It is really a waste of time and effort and it takes so much from a first grader when they could use that time to learn something useful. However, there are many worthless subjects and classes in school but they are taught to make the student conform and take orders and accept rules without question.

For me, I sign my name and if I am qucikly writing something down I tend to use a mix. I am the only one who reads it so it doesnt matter.

Well I'm pretty much a Left wing commie socialist Democrat and cursive is about all I'm able to write in lol I learned to write cursive in 3rd grade and thats about all I've written in since. To me it's no more useless that Algebra... Our Algebra teacher even told us, the main point of learning Algebra was to expand our mind and critical thinking, and we'd likely NOT use it in real life unless, we were going to teach it... I dunno why cursive can't be the same way.

I usually print but cursive is useful, too. I can write faster using cursive.

I always print when I put down a note or a shopping list on paper. But if I'm going to write something lengthy, which is rare, I'll do it in cursive.

I'm 39 years old and was taught how to write curive in school.
But I can't be sure that I can read other people's cursive writing.

When I write, I have to think more and slow down. I recently renewed my passport and i had to write my name the way it was on the previous passport. My first, middle and last names. I seldom write my middle name and I had trouble. As for using a pen or pencil on paper I always print. My dad said Printers print and people letter. Although I do use the term printing to cover what I do. I saw on Modern Marvels episode ,it was said a good typist could type way faster on a typewriter than someone can write. Probably the same holds true today with a person typing on a computer.
