I dont know if he woulld have succeeded but always thought that Bob Crance from "Hogans Heroes" would have made a good talk show host. Before he was on television he basically did the same job on radio. He was handsome, engaging, and might have done an excellene job in the format. He was also (arguably) a sex addict who was (arguably) not someone who should interview attractive female guests. Maybe his reputation succeeded him. Although I liked the movie, How much was "Auto Focus" was true. But if could have kept it together, he might have been a good talk show host.
