"GET SMART" AIRINGS FOR THE WEEK OF AUGUST 18TH:
Aug 18 2002 8:00AM 113 - Pheasant Under Glass
On a mission for CONTROL to rescue Professor Milo Pheasant, Smart and 99 learn that he is imprisoned within an impregnable glass dome. They are fired at by two KAOS agents and as they flee 99 reveals to Max that she is pregnant. In his excitement about the news, Max knocks over a phone booth with his car and attracts a large crowd as he phones the Chief from the horizontal booth. Later the Chief demonstrates a secret weapon that will crack the glass dome imprisoning Professor Pheasant: a recording of Madam Rosa LaCosta's voice in High C.
Aug 19 2002 8:00AM 111 - The Not-So-Great Escape Part I
Several abductions occur at a revolving telephone booth manipulated by KAOS. Through sheer persistence, Smart goads KAOS into attempting to kidnap him. Smart thwarts KAOS and finds out that the CONTROL people are being held a t a prisoner of war camp by Seigfried and his aide. Smart infiltrates the camp by disguising himself as a KAOS official.
Aug 20 2002 8:00AM 112 - The Not-So-Great Escape Part II Smart and the Chief try all the standard escape methods and each time KAOS has Seigfried and his henchman, Starker, block them. The Chief realizes that there must be an informer in the camp and devises a plan to fool the informer. The later isn't fooled but Smart unintentionally bungled execution of the plan does leave KAOS guarding the wrong escape spot.
Aug 21 2002 8:00AM 114 - Ironhand
Smart's contact, Marco a midget, is to give Max information regarding KAOS's new head, a man who also is the head of a huge comglomerate called I.H. Industries. However, Marco is killed befor he can reveal the man's identitiy. The Chief's office is ransacked by KAOS in a vain attempt to find the A.A.A.M.M. (Anti-Anti-Anti-Missile-Missile) plans, and the Chief assigns Max and 99 to get the plans out of Washington. Their assignment begins at a store where they receive instruction from a talking doll to buy a baby carriage. The carriage has hidden weapons installed to safeguard the plans they pick up later from a hand that suddenly emerges from a mailbox. En route to the airport, Max and 99 are followed by KAOS agents, but when Max attempts to use the weapon he only succeeds in blowing up his own car.
Aug 22 2002 8:00AM 116 - Widow Often Annie
The Chief assigns Smart to Romance the beautiful Ann Cameron and to get proof that she has killed her last 12 husbands for their life insurance. After their deaths, she has turned over the proceeds to the KAOS organization. Smart spends so much time romancing Ann that 99 become jealous and insists that he withdraw from the case. However, after the Chief gives 99 a patriotic talk, she agrees that Max must carry on. After several days of dating, Max informs 99 that he and Ann are getting married; the Chief, disguised as a minister performs the ceremony. Ann dupes max into signing an insurance policy and then tries getting him onto the terrace which has been rigged to colapse.
Aug 23 2002 8:00AM 117 - The Treasure of C. Errol Madre CONTROL is robbed by KAOS, and bankruptcy seems imminent. When ex-convict Froggsy Debs is found dead, the Chief explains that Froggsy, once a prospector, had found a fabulous lost gold mine in Mexico. He and his partner, C. Errol Madre, had been too sick to remove the gold, so they had drawn a map, and as a double-cross insurance, each partner retained half of the map. While Froggsy was sitting out his prison term, Madre waited in Mexico. Froggsy's half map is found and the Chief sends Max into Mexico to find Madre, locate the mine and save CONTROL.
Aug 24 2002 8:00AM 118 - Smart Fell On Alabama Smart fails to secure a code-key document carried by KAO agent Borhman who is enroute to Col. Kyle Kirby's southern plantation. Later, the Chief show Smart a film of a cold blooded killer Kirby, who uses his chain of Tennessee Fricassee Fro Legs Resturaunts to distribute KAOS information. Smart is ordered to enter Kirby's well-guarded mansion and try again to substitute the code. Smart is reticent about leaving 99, for their baby is due any minute. After getting into Kyle's plantation he makes constant worried calls to 99 on his various phone devices. Later on with the help of a convict, Smart gets the safe containing the code opened and is about to make the switch when the Colonel and his two aides appear on the scene.
