Here the NY Times review——

They liked the cop, they liked the kid

>>>Playing the kid, Tierre Turner is as appealing as a juvenile delinquent might possibly get on primetime television. And Charles Durning, playing the cop, is superb as the pot‐bellied hero.<<<

They didn’t like the show

>>> Attractive performances aside, though, the series is juggling with a perhaps fatal flaw in its basic conception. How funny is juvenile denlinquency? There is nothing automatically cute about a youngster's shoplifting.<<<

Still odd that its video footage of Grady but not Cop and the Kid and both aired on the same night
