A snowstorm keeps Lou from joining some gambling buddies in Las Vegas, so he sets up a poker game at the station. The only round table in the building is on the set of a kiddie program. Murray, a reformed gambler, gets caught up in the game.

Rhoda has lost twenty pounds, but inside she still feels fat. Mary is determined to help Rhoda realize how attractive she is. Her ego gets a tremendous boost when she is invited to enter a beauty contest at Hempel's Department Store.

Mary's parents decide to move to Minneapolis to be near their daughter. Mary is delighted to see her parents, but when they start planning her evenings and weekends, she must ask them to mind their own business.

Wes Callison quits his job as the writer for Chuckles the Clown and tries to develop a humorous spot on the news. He then tries a comedy routine at a bowling alley lounge and invites the news staff, who do the best they can to influence the audience.

Ted decides to do television commercials and pushes all sorts of strange products. Lou calls a halt to his extracurricular activities when he does an embarrassing commercial on his own news show.
