So, I was watching What Would You Do? Show? On YouTube. I remember thinking,"It's only a matter of time before someone gets involved with something dangerous thinking it's What Would You Do Show and expecting to get their 15 minutes of fame and it being a real life thing and not What Would You Do?

A comment said something like,"I was in a coffee shop and some guy was just about to hit his son. I thought,"This is obviously What Would You Do? No Dad would ever be getting ready to hit their son in a public place like a coffee shop nowadays. I stopped the guy from hitting his son and I was thinking,"I'm going to be thanked by Johnny Quinones and be on TV and get my 15 minutes of fame for speaking up and stopping a guy who was just about to hit his son!" It turns out this was NOT What Would You Do, this was 100 percent REAL and he really was about to hit his son!:eek: The reply said something like,"At least you stopped a Father from hitting his son. You ended up doing the right thing." The guy responded something like,"Yeah, but I really wanted my 15 minutes of fame!"

I found this disturbing, the implication that he would have let the Father hit his son if he knew it was real and not What Would You Do!" :eek: :(Standing up for a child only because you think you're about to get your 15 minutes of fame is
disgusting and disturbing! :(:eek:

FWIW, I purposely avoided this thread because my own experiences in situations where I could have used the assistance of strangers, the strangers opted to not put themselves in harms way, instead preferring to see me get my head beat in.

Not by a parent mind you, and all happening in the days before "everyone" carried a cell phone.

But other than the occasional mom seeking vengeance for my calling their children brats, most of my tormentors are sufficiently big that most bystanders just figure it's more trouble than they are willing to get themselves into.

I remember a 15 year old girl said a grown man kidnapped her in broad daylight, and in front of bystanders who just stood there watching and allowed him to force her into his car despite her looking scared as hell! :mad: They didn't help her out at all,just let him literally steal a15 year old CHILD! :mad::eek:

Yes but remember how they got put into jail? Failing to abide by a new "good samaritan" law. They were even cackling among themselves about how fat the victim was.

Those are the kind of people I've had most experiences with as bystanders to my misfortune. self-absorbed azzhats are a very real part of out culture. People who align into cliques and get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them, and shun people who do not think like them.
