I ride past the Amen church everyday here in philly and everytime i see that church, it makes me think of that horrible Amen sitcom. Thatshow is not worth taping

Yeah the show is taped in philly-I see that church all the time-i guess it was okay-nothing to tape off television

Amen was not completely taped in Philly. The setting of the show was based around a church in Philly and they came to shoot a few background shots but the studio work was mostly done in Cali.

I had heard that the church front was taken from a church in Philly. Where is it located? I've been trying to find it but so many look like the one on TV. I haven't found any with private parking. I'm just curious as to the fate of the church, so many aren't active anymore. I was wondering if the publicity helped with keeping the church vibrant. Also, I thought the front of the house was in Philly too. The interior didn't match up with the outside. Location of windows, door, etc. I did like the show though.

I had a great Aunt whos lived on the same street where the house used in Amen was filmed. I cannot remember the street the church is located on but will find out asap. You are correct, the windows and set of Amen's house doesn't match that of the actual row house scenes. :)

The church is located on 41st street in philadelphia.
