I was watching an episode today where John and Roy were driving in their truck on an emergency call and some jerk in a Chevrolet pulls right out onto the street in front of them with Roy swerving to avoid being broadsided by the maniac in the car.
Later, back at the fire station, John tells Roy and the other firemen that cameras should be put in the fire trucks to record any irresponsible drivers, who either hit a truck or just avoid running into a fire truck.
And, years later, cam-recorders have been installed in both fire trucks and police cars to provide evidence of activities and possible accidents while firemen and police officers are on duty.
So, John was showing great foresight way back there in 1972. Bravo, John!
