Honeymooners Reenactment Reviews: Nassau Community College 1983 TV 101 The Honeymooners & Chuck McCann & Dick Van Dyke as the Honeymooners:

This is an SEVERELY edited version of the episode "The Bensonhurst Bomber." Here's the YouTube link:

Nassau Community College 1983 TV 101 Honeymooners - YouTube

A person named Harvey and his short friend, Sam are taking a break from pool. The pool table you can tell is obviously just a table with a sheet over it with balls. Ralph & Ed walk in. Ralph & Ed first flip a coin over who should break. Harvey's friend comes by and asks Ralph & Ed to move to another table. They don't budge. Harvey's friend: "I'm going to tell my friend Harvey. Harvey is bigger than me." Ralph: "I got a friend Shirley, who's bigger than you." That's a reference to Shirley Temple who was short in real-life. Ralph says that he is going to turn Harvey and his friend into pretzels. Ralph & Ed are introduced to Harvey, who is very big and strong. Ralph is scared and so is Ed. Ed: "Hey, he is even bigger than Shirley." Harvey is told that Ralph has been making fun of him. Harvey challenges Ralph to a fight outside. Ralph backs out, because he has his new suit on. Harvey said that Ralph is scared. Ed says that it is the truth and Ralph will fight him anywhere and anytime but now. Not something that Ralph wanted to hear. Harvey then says to Ralph to meet him at Kesley's Gym tonight for a boxing match and if he doesn't come, he will come get him. He asks for his address which Ed gives. Ed: "244 Delancey Street." Yes, an address that was completly different from the series. Harvey goes home with his friend to work on the punching bag. As, they leave. Ed says: "Apox on your ancestors."

Ralph is at home. Ed comes in and asks Ralph to stand up and show his fighting stance. Ralph shows his rather weak fighting stance. Ed asks Ralph to cover his face! Ralph does and Ed hits him in the stomach. Ralph and Ed think of a plan. Ed's plan: He will get a friend of is who's bigger than Harvey and instruct him to say to Ralph in front of Harvey: "Get a load of fatso there!" and Ralph will "punch" him and he will fall to the floor as if Ralph knocked him out. Does Ed's friend know what Ralph looks like? Ralph agrees to the plan.

That night, in front of a punching bag, Harvey approaches Ralph and says that he's been looking forward to this all week (we will ignore the fact that he just met and asked Ralph for a fight earlier in the day.) Harvey asks him to start the fight right away. A person who is slightly smaller than Harvey comes and says to Ralph: "Get a load of fatso there!" Ralph knocks him out and doesn't get hurt. Harvey, scared, cancels his fight with Ralph and leaves. Ralph says to Ed's friend that it worked like a charm. Ed comes by and says that his friend couldn't make it. Ralph really did knock someone out. Being a big shot, Ralph wants to fight Harvey. A very pritivie credit roll is shown. We never got told who the actors' names are.

Chuck McCann & Dick Van Dyke as the Honeymooners:

This is from the Garry Moore Show. Thomas Garrison Morfit (aka Garry Moore) introduces us to the reenactment. In this one, Ralph & Ed are trying to sell a vaccum cleaner. Chuck McCann plays Ralph while Dick Van Dyke plays Ed.

Ralph & Ed come into what is supposedly the Kramden apartment. Ralph is trying to rehearse his spiel about selling Hoover vaccums which is something that the two are trying to sell. They rehearse with Ed playing the housewife and Ralph the salesman. Ralph goes out the door and comes back in. Ed says: "Hiya Ralph!" Ralph: "Not Ralph! I'm the salesman." He goes into his spiel. Ralph: "I'm with the Hoover Vaccum Company..." Ed: "I will take three." Ralph (yells): "NORTON, YOU ARE A MENTAL CASE." They switch roles. Ed leaves and knocks on the door. Ralph answers it. Ed: "I'm with the Hoover Vaccum Company and I will like to sell you this machine." Ed dances around for a few seconds. This drives Ralph crazy. He yells at Ed about what it does. Ed apologizes. He then asks Ralph if he will take one. Ralph says yes. Ed says" "Thanks. I need the money." Ralph says that he doesn't mean that. Ed asks Ralph for a pencil. Ralph tries to get one in the bureau drawer. Ed says he already got one so he slams the drawer shut and inadvertantly hurts Ralph's hand. Ralph goes into his pain bit where he walks around in pain. Ed laughs and says to Ralph: "You think you got it Ralph, you should have seen what Laurel did to Hardy." Ralph kicks Ed out. Ed leaves. The announcer says: "This portion of the Gaary Moore Show is brought to you by Hoover." That explains why this skit and the Laurel & Hardy skit in the beginning was made.
