The Recording Academy announced its 2023 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipients today:

Bobby McFerrin
Nirvana
Ma Rainey
Nile Rodgers
Slick Rick “The Ruler”
The Supremes
Ann Wilson
Nancy Wilson

Here are 2 people who I believe deserve the award, both of whom have recorded scores of records that've sold in incredible numbers:

Cliff Richard - extremely key person in the birth of British rock & roll, continues working to this day past age 80

Engelbert Humperdinck - also still active, past age 85...!

You can disagree and / or scoff, but these guys have had a tremendous impact on popular music in their very long careers. Sorry but I have no idea who "Slick Rick" is. I would advocate giving the award to Nick Cave or Kylie Minogue if I were choosing among younger artists.
