Which gift do you treasure the most?

When I was in my 40's, my mom sent me a breadmaker. Which was great. I could dump in the ingredients, set the timer, and have delightful fresh bread on cue/

I've had fancier gifts that were far more expensive...but in terms of a gift I got the most enjoyment out of, the bread maker is it.

Blaze the talking horse. I must have been 7 yrs. old. And I still have Blaze, but he doesn't talk anymore, and he is a bit worn but in good shape.

Mine was a Play-Doh Fun Factory Jr., because I have a strong memory of my dad helping me get started with it.

Was this a hobby horse?

The coffee mug my daughter gave to me when she was 7. She picked it out and used her allowance to buy it for me. Still use it to this day (17 years later) as my main mug for morning coffee.

No. Blaze was an actual looking horse made of plastic and he is a black and white pinto. I tried to post a picture of him but if wouldn't take. He galloped too.

Oh Blaze is a bouncing horse....back in those days of my childhood, we didn't have extra money for these toys....our Electric Train Set was our big thing and each christmas we got a new car for the train or other houses, trees etc for the major set up....that was all such fun for we kids. Our mom enjoyed it too. There were high end rocking horses too and I believe some woodworking people built them for their kids or grands...

On this whole christmas gift stuff, the more think of it all, it's originally meant for the little ones and it just grew and grew and grew into a very commercial venture, and I went along with all for many yrs.... just a lot of capitalism.
