Catherine Hicks (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catherine_Hicks) is shutting down (https://movieweb.com/catherine-hicks-no-7th-heaven-reboot/) any notion (https://www.reddit.com/r/television/comments/100rgln/catherine_hicks_says_7th_heaven_reboot_not/) of a "7th Heaven" reunion, reboot or remake ... saying far too much has changed, and it just wouldn't be the same. Unless ...

We'll get to her one caveat, but when we caught up with Catherine in Bev Hills, we raised the issue of a possible second coming for her hit family drama.

She pretty quickly shot down any hope of it happening ... pointing to the fact the kids from the show have all grown up. She also made it clear she doesn't act anymore. Instead, she's focusing on being a mom in real life, not just one on screen.

As for her on-screen hubby, Stephen Collins (https://www.tmz.com/people/stephen-collins/), he'd definitely be out because he's "gone" ... as Catherine very gently put it.

Remember, TMZ got audio back in 2014 of Collins confessing to his then-wife (https://www.tmz.com/2014/10/07/stephen-collins-child-molestation-7th-heaven-audio-tape-nypd-investigation/) Faye Grant he molested and/or exposed himself to 3 girls between the ages of 11 and 13. He ended up not being prosecuted due to the statute of limitations ... but his marriage went up in flames, and he fled Hollywood.

The last time we talked to Catherine, she talked about forgiveness (https://www.tmz.com/2017/01/15/catherine-hicks-stephen-collins-7th-heaven-reunion/) and being open to the idea of a reunion with the disgraced actor -- but, now it sounds like all those ships have sailed for her.

As far as having a new cast recreate the series, she says there is a way to do it -- just one, and it would require the services of one specific person.

I wonder if Beverly Mitchell (Lucy) and George Stults (Kevin) would be open to getting the show going again. They would be the perfect leading character.

God bless you and them always!!!

Even had Stephen Collins not become disgraced, I honestly don't know how a show like 7th Heaven (https://web.archive.org/web/20061031125314/http://www.jumptheshark.com/s/7thheaven.htm) could fit onto television today. It was a show where its dare I say, unintentionally (https://www.reddit.com/r/TikTokCringe/comments/1378oe5/remember_7th_heaven/) funny (https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=funny+or+die+7th+heaven), squeaky clean morals just don't fit in the present. You can make a fair argument that the morals (https://medium.com/@NotYourBonnie/seventh-heaven-was-just-11-seasons-of-toxic-problematic-messaging-68245ae2145c) didn't fit when it was first on the air (https://www.reddit.com/r/7thheaven/comments/s0cnpl/most_ridiculous_moments_on_7th_heaven/) back in the late '90s and on through the 2000s. Plus, 7th Heaven (https://web.archive.org/web/20140329232837/http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/3127454-7th-heaven-there-is-no-god/?view=getnewpost) may have been a bit too preachy (https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/when-shows-get-too-preachy.898987/page-2) and judgmental at times especially in regards to drugs (https://www.thedailybeast.com/remembering-7th-heavens-completely-bonkers-marijuana-mystery-episode), drinking, and sexuality.

Also, I think that I previously addressed this, but 7th Heaven was a part of that "trendy cool Evangelicalism marketing movement (https://christianreformedink.wordpress.com/bad-theology/new-evangelical-movement/neo-evangelical-movement/)" also included Veggie Tales, purity rings, WWJD bracelets, Touched by an Angel, and coffee and bagel church sermons.

Making a reboot or revival would be hard because 7th Heaven is now, such a relic of a movement to make Christianity trendy and cater to an Evangelical audience that wanted a fantasy world where Christianity was still relevant. That's probably why on 7th Heaven, they avoided (https://www.reddit.com/r/television/comments/csqan0/a_very_special_episode_the_7th_heaven_when_shiri/) discussing (https://www.denverpost.com/2006/05/06/7th-heaven-dies-just-as-it-lived-in-moral-bliss/) abortion and homosexuality because there was no way to handle that without alienating both the conservative Christians and the liberal viewers.
