There seems to be so many scenes on “Emergency” where we got to see Roy and John, sitting down to enjoy a tasty hamburger, some tacos or beef stew and that annoying alarm goes off, sending the men of Station 51 out on an emergency call.

I can see why John was so ectomorphic, the poor guy never seemed to be able to consume a full meal. Whereas Chet Kelly, on the other hand, looked as if he needed to go on Dr. Irwin Stillman’s world-famous Water Diet.

Even Nurse Dixie McCall and Dr. Kelly Brackett were forced to go into action, while they were enjoying a sumptuous meal at lunch at some posh restaurant, and some woman near their table when into labor.

Somehow, I don’t think such other famous tv gastronomes as Sgt. Hans Schultz, Detective Frank Cannon and director Alfred Hitchcock would enjoy serving as paramedics/firemen at Station 51. Mangia!

I think they eat one meal by themselves and the alarm rings soon after.

You know, I wish Archie Bunker had installed one of those loud Station 51 alarms on the Bunker family refrigerator, that would go off every time that mooching and gluttonous schnorrer, Mike “The Meat Head” Stivic, would repeatedly stuff his fat and ugly face with the food Archie and Gloria had paid for while “The Meat Head” was merrily attending classes and generally goofing off.
