Hard to believe that it's been 25 years ago today that our beloved King has left us. In song, the following captures the essence of the man that stood proudly behind the legend, enjoy.

An American Trilogy

Oh I wish I was in the land of cotton
Old things they are not forgotten
Look away, look away, look away Dixieland
Oh I wish I was in Dixie, away, away
In Dixieland I take my stand to live and die in Dixie
Cause Dixieland, that's where I was born
Early Lord one frosty morning
Look away, look away, look away Dixieland

Glory, glory hallelujah
Glory, glory hallelujah
Glory, glory hallelujah
His truth is marching on

So hush little baby
Don't you cry
You know your daddy's bound to die
But all my trials, Lord will soon be over.

American Trilogy is such a beautiful song. By the way, is that pic from the Aloha from Hawaii special? j/w

Hawaii, March 1977.

Yes it is a beautiful song Jenny, no I don't think it's from the Aloha Concert, I got it on tape and it doesn't quite sound the same however it is a live version and that's most important in my opinion.

Thanks Walter for answering my question. I think I'm going to get some of my E cds and listen to them now. :)
