I suffer from chronic anxiety and have for about 10 years or more. I take a medication called Ativan, which works great. I have 4 big fears or phobias.

I am terrified of fire and anything having to do with fire. (Stove flame, lighted candles...etc.) in fact so much so that I microwave everything that I cook or eat out as often as I can.

I am not thrilled about going out. much, but the medicine helps. Once I am out, it takes about an hour to work but I hate all the stuff I have to do to go out. It drives me crazy

I am fearful of getting lost. When I get stressed, my stomach always gets in knots and it's like a tape recorder keeps going off in my head

I have an obsession with electronic things. I like to "push buttons to see what they will do" for no apparent reason, but the stress is, I am afraid of messing something up and it bothers me. (It's like I want to explore but am fearful of the consquences of exploring.) I am getting better with this and am learning to just leave what I don't know alone. Anxiety can be a very painful thing, but my medication has sure been a lifesaver for me!

Where to start? I am scared of a lot of stuff.

1. MOTHS. I am terrified of them!!!!!! I have no idea why, they are harmless. Lets just expand this one to bugs in general. If is classified as an insect, Im scared of it. This also goes for spiders although they arent insects.

2. PUBLIC SPEAKING. I though I would die in my Speech class in high school, but somehow I got through it.

I dont have this problem anymore but when I was a kid, I had a fear of being left places. I never let my mom out of my sight because I was afraid she would leave me. It's retarted I know, but I was terrified of being left places.

OMG! Me too! I cook EVERYTHING by the microwave. If it cant be like that, I make my mother put on the stove. As for matches? I take the long match holder so I dont burn myself, and I STILL squinch.
OMG OMG OMG OMG BEAVERSBIGGESTFAN. I, too, am a moths biggest fearer! I HATE them, and I fear them immensly. They always tend to come out here on the porch and I immediatly jump up and scream at the top of my lungs waking up my parents, and dogs. I wont even take the dogs out real late @ nite because all the moths swarm to the door where I have to go out!!

Cockroaches- I've had this phobia since I was a little girl. I still haven't grown out of the phobia, doubt I will either.

Public Speaking- When I was younger, I didn't mind getting up in front of class to speak. Toward the high school years, I would rather have died than get in front of the class to do a presentation.

Public speaking. ICk. Glad THOSE days are over! I always hated it...and when I got later in the years (8th grade til my senior year) it got even worse. Thing is, I wasnt like the normal who feared it who just froze and hardly said anything. I laughed. HARD. LOUD. NON-STOP. The whole day Id have butterflies and when I finally got to the front of the room Id be shaking all over, and Id beging. Sometimes I managed to start without laughing. Sometimes I got lucky and didnt laugh. But I always, always, ALWAYS read it too fast. No one could understand what I said. They said I sounded like a chipmunk! But if it were me & my best friend in the class...we would laugh TOGETHER. Once, we did a project on China and laughed through the first 10 minutes!!

This may sound stupid but it's not I'm deeply DEEPLY scared of scissiors, I actually have to have my distance from my hair. I'm very scared of getting my hair cut I think I've mention when I was really young my friends played a prank and cut most of my hair off and those weren't my friends after that. When I'm near scissors I nearly cry although I let my hair grow out and got it fixed after that I still never got over it emotionally, I'm gonna grow my hair 5 inches past my shoulders but my hair is only to my shoulders now but I don't think I'm going to see scissors for a LONG time.

I'm afraid of getting lost while I'm driving, and tornadoes. I always have horrible nightmares about tornadoes. Come to think of it, I'm not too fond of storms, either.

Well as far as phobias go, clowns, bugs, sometimes needles (depends) um... nothing else really.

But anxiety... oh Jeeze. We won't even start there

1. Dr. Seuss- the books, the guy, the Cat in the Hat, especially "the cat in the hat comes back" I have no idea why but I've had this fear my whole life.
2. Hospital smell- its not hospitals themselves, its that sterile cleaner smell that they all have. It just freaks me out.
3. Bugs- especially spiders..ughhh...i cant look at pictures of them in books without being scared. (and for this reason im scared of peaches now thanks to chris!!)
4. Needles- the doctors hate me. I freak out everytime they say "this won't hurt at all" I like to threaten doctors too.
5. Dentists- yeah. i just hate them. Ive been scared ever since I had to have a baby tooth pulled and they gave me twice the amount of the numbing stuff they should have for my size. Thanks a lot dentistI couldnt feel my mouth until sometime the next day.
6. Being home alone at night- Not during the day, just when its dark out. I always think I hear things.

I'm afraid of heights, needles, public speaking, and spiders. I also have claustrophobia (fear of being in an enclosed space) - trust me, you would not want to be stuck in a broken-down elevator with me. ;)
