This morning I watched the show black tie blues and in the part where Chico is getting angry at Della for not practicing the equality she is alaways preaching about I thought he seemed really angry and that put me in mind of the time(according to Maria's book)that Freddie was turned away from going to a church for lack of a tie. I couldn't help but think that maybe he might have had simialr feelings about the person or persons who turned him away that day when all he wanted was peace and to stop the lonliness

Freddie hated hypocrisy, and I hate to say I have seen worse hypocrisy in church than in many other places! I can just see him standing there with his mouth hanging open and, after the door shut in his face, storming away angry! Pobrecito!

WOW! I agree with you there Mariposa! I can picture him stomping out of the Church like angry.

It is so sad how that church did him. I bet it was a legalistic church like the independant Baptists who are so legalistic. :( Do they realize they added to his problem? In our church he would be welcomed without a tie on.

I can just picture him in his suit with no tie, walking out looking sad & kinda miffed. He needed the church & they let him down...

Hi agree with all of you. Who ever turned him away was very misguided. He was a person with an enormous amount of faith. No one should be turned away from God because of the clothes they wear.
