It sort of amazes me that he went around without security of some sort and that anyone could just walk up to him. Chapman actually approached Lennon for an autograph as Lennon was going somewhere and someone took a picture of both of them, and this was the last picture of John Lennon ever taken alive.

I wonder after this, was steps taken in buildings where famous people live to prevent this from happening again. Like the door man walking the celebrity to and from the car. But Chapman would have shot the security person also.

I was 13 when he died. It was on a Monday and I had to go to school the next morning so I was asleep when it happened and made the news. My parents were not fans of the band but I do remember my mother telling me when she woke me up from school that "John Lennon died". I remember asking "Was it drugs?" I sort of shrugged it off and went about my day.

Sort of sucks because it ended the dream that The Beatles might reunite one day, but I doubt this was going to happen because Lennon wouldnt not have done it. Iam sorry he is dead, but Lennon was a physically and mentally abusive jerk and a terrible father. His songs were all hippie anthems of love and peace and all that, but that was not him. But for me, I dont usually look at the personal character of a performer to enjoy their work, plus again, I dont know them except for what I read.

Lastly, Yoko did not break up The Beatles. That was John Lennon. Ask Paul McCartney. Why would Yoko want to break up The Beatles? The Beatles was the most successful musical group in history, and because of this, her standing prospered because of it. Yes, she was annoying and no, she should not have been on stage with John Lennon whatsoever, but that was his call. People hate Yoko like Hitler and it isnt deserved.

Lastly.....I looked up which of the four Beatles are grandparents. Interestingly, the two living ones are, the two dead ones are not. I dont know about George Harrison's children but its interesting that John Lennon's sons never had children. So again, to the Yoko haters, the line ends with her.
