Once in awhile there is a moment in time when you can't believe that a show has made it so far. In your opinion what shows do you consider lucky for having sucess.

Facts Of Life- the 1st season is terribly boring.

Saved By The Bell- same as above. I can't believe the fan base stuck through it while the many schedule changes.

Small Wonder- I can't believe that it lasted so long when many critics hated it. It's probably the average 7 million viewers a week that kept it alive!

Clueless- why did it last so long?!

Married With Children- at first the show seemed to be "TOO HOT" for regular TV. I was always prepared to hear that the executives at FOX cancelled it.

The Hugley's- this show is SOOO TERRIBLE! I guess UPN was desperate :o.

Even Stevens- how can someone watch this show without getting a migraine?

Unhappily Ever After- a huge ripoff of Married with Children without the humor. I can't beleive the WB even let it run for 4 years.

Wings- I never thought the show was that funny to last 10-11 seasons?!?

Moesha- Not funny whatsoever in my opinion

Home Improvement- Very irritating sitcom

Even though I am a huge Cheers fan. The show was awful in its first season. well maybethat is over exaggerated. But the jokes were corny and the episode ideas were laughable. I can see why it was one of the worst rated shows in the first season. Fortunetaly season after season got WAAYYY better.

Thank god for network executives! lol :sighing:

Hogan's Heroes- Okay, so I LOVE this show, but the protests it got....whoa. I'm surprised CBS kept it going.

There are some shows that were on or have been on for quite a while, and I have never seen one single episode.
"JAG" has been on for what, eight seasons? Never seen it.
"Walker Texas Ranger" was around for several years. Ditto.

I'm surprised a show like "Becker" is still around. I like Ted Danson, but I just don't think it's that funny.

I would have thought FOX would have dumped "King Of The Hill" a few years ago. Don't get me wrong, I really like the show, but it hardly gets any attention anymore. I'm surprised it's still on, and I am glad...

How in the world does Just Shoot Me stay on the air? I watched the first season and it was ok, but it just got more lame as it went on. Funny how shows like that stay on the air but they cancel good shows like Freaks and Geeks.

Married With Children was funny! Thats why it lasted so long. If it wasn't for Married With Children some shows like Roseanne wouldn't have made it to air. At least thats what E! True Hollywood said. :)

That's what the producers and creaters of Married With Children say. But I seriously doubt that. Roseanne premeired the season after MWC premeired. And no one at the time even knew what Married With Children was. And MWC was nearly cancelled. Plus the jokes are Roseanne were so much funnier than Married With Children jokes. I think the creaters of MWC like to take credit for alot of stuff.

I'm surprised that "Scrubs" has become soooooo popular and successful personally. I thought it looked so good in the commercials, but when I watched it I just couldn't stomach it. :happyface :happyface :happyface

Cheers The show is pretty good, but the 1st season was labeled 'the show everyone loves to ignore' or something like that, and it went WAY low. Lower then #25 FOL.

M*A*S*H Just a load of garbage that had stupid humor, that couldn't even get me to chuckle. (You don't see me say that often!)

ER-Emergency Room Eww. How can someone watch a show that is just Boring! I might watch it when I have the insomniac thing going on.

The Love Boat Same as ER!

The Andy Griffith Show Stupid as Mary's brother on 'There's Something About Mary'

For Your Love It should have been left alone after it was cancelled from NBC.

The Flying Nun That show was way stupid. I watched it, and hated it. It annoys me so much.

Mad About You Non-funny show. It's more of a chuckle show. It didn't do good in ratings AT ALL, but it remained on air.

The Steve Harvey Show That man isn't funny! That Kings of Comedy Thing was HILARIOUS! But, he ruined some of it. The audience, u could tell, was giving pity laughs, fake laughing.

Felicity It wasn't good. The 1st season was great. I loved the show when the pink power ranger was on. I used to LOVE The Power Rangers. I was at THAT age when the original came on air, and she was my favorite! She's pretty.

I agree with those and yes Brandon she was the only reason I watched "Felicity" too...

I just wanted to point out that the reasons that shows like CHEERS and WINGS lasted so long is because they were high in quality and critics loved them, they were ahead of thier time and brillant. btw, CHEERS is considered one of the best sitcoms ever. There is no way that they lasted "Too Long". as for FELICITY, basing a whole show on the prettiness of an actress is petty and childish, making shows last are based on quality and ratings, not based on the looks of an actor/actress and it is pretty immature to say a show should be canceled because an actor/actress that is "pretty" leaves, FELICITY was a high-rated series for the WB and was considered by the indsutry to be a quality series with great acting, btw 4 years is not long at all. And Felicity and Clueless both only lasted 4 years, which is not long at all.

NOT TRUE AT ALL MAD ABOUT YOU WAS ONE OF THE HIGHEST RATED SHOWS ON TELEVISION. HOW CAN YOU SAY MAD ABOUT YOU DIDN'T GET GOOD RATINGS? IT WAS A TOP-TEN SHOW EVERY SINGEL WEEK, NOT TO MENTION A MULTIPLE EMMY WINNER? AS FOR NOT FUNNY? IT WAS CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED AND RENOWED AS ONE OF THE BEST SITCOMS ON THE AIR...

Actually, MAY didn't get that high ratings. During it's run, it was in the top 30 three times. For the 1994-1995 season, it was #11, 1996-1997 season it was #24, and 1997-1998 season it was again #24. I never really watched the show, but I'm surprised it lasted that long since NBC likes to cancel shows out of the top 30.

But the thing is that it was of high quality and NBC kept it on because of that, it was critically acclaimed, and a multiple Emmy winner, the ratings were good enough for NBC to consider it one of its highested rated shows on the air. It was on Thursday nights with Seinfeild (at one point) and was a powerhouse show for NBC.

You got a point there too. I don't know what kind of deal with the Devil the "Just Shoot Me" folks made. I would have thought NBC would have been canned after they racked up enough episodes to get a syndication deal, but they're still going. They ran out of ideas three seasons ago.

Arli$$ is another one. The first season was pretty good, but the second was horrible.
