What do you think the others thought of Lou? I know what Phil and Vivian thought of him. But what do you guys think the other kids thought?

i don't think they know him as well as they do with will's mum. however, the guy was a jerk to walk out on will and her, and to do it twice really takes the cake. some father he is, NOT!

I haven't seen this episode in a while, but I don't remember Will's dad being in many scenes with the other kids. I could be wrong.

i don't think he made as many appearances on screen with them, as much as will's mother

well, if we're talking about hilary and carlton, i think they'd be too stuck up to give a damn about him, although i could be wrong. ashley out of the three kids is more down-to-earth and not as stuck up as the other two and so i think she would have a lot of sympathy for will and understand what he has gone through, what with him being brought up by a single parent, his mum and brought up in a tough but loving environment where they didn't have much

I actually watched this episode the first time on my father's 60th birthday. Not that he's the best dad in the world either, but at least he's always been there for us.

I think Lou should have taken some time off from work. So what if he lost some jobs, when he met his son for the first time in years?

This episode has alot of underlying aspects to it...

 Will is at a point in his life where alot of things are clicking for him.. He has a job at the college and is living life well. Lou comes into the picture and at first it really awkward. However, notice how Will still is "immature" about the whole situation.. If your father walked out on you, I think the reunion would be more heated than what this showed. By saying that Will is "immature" I mean that he is quick to forgive so that he has his father back in his life (so he thinks for good).. He recalls those nights as a kid wanting and waiting for his father to come back mostly in his subconscious, and he is excited like a little kid to have his father back. He invites him to the house, stands up for him and defends him leaving him to Uncle Phil saying he made a mistake...

 Uncle Phil raises a great point, but come off too irrational to Will, who to him, just got is father back.. However, Vivian raises a better point to Phil about being selfish and letting be with his father...

:( The ending is heart-wrenching.. when Will says "Why doesn't he want me man..?!? (and weeps).. I honestly cried.. You have to feel for someone who is under the impression that his father who was not there and he is giving a second chance, runs out on him again... His monologue about getting through everything without him and how he will be a better father than he ever was.. because he couldn't tell him how to love his kids... Its heart wrenching, esp. when him and Uncle Phil embrace...

Can I get an AMEN?

I think Will was so happy to see his father again, that he just simply forgave him. Too bad his dad blew it again. :(
