Its too late now that TVtome has become tv.com. I used to edit several shows as an editor but lost that title when they converted to the new system in 2005. Now, to become an editor, you have to submit episode analyses, quotes, trivia, bloopers, etc on a frequent basis to get points. I think you have to be at Level 8 or something to be eligible to edit a show.

Many editors were irate when they lost their titles especially when the episode guides were complete and it was nothing left to do but maintain them. Anybody who is registered can contribute but it up to either the editor or system moderator to accept it. Some editors are very tough and will fight you on the accuracy of the submissions.

Tough is not the word. Ridiculous, at times, is. Case in point: they have the scene where Marcy dances and sings, "I'm as corny as Kansas in August..." down for the episode "War Stories" and that's wrong. That scene was in "Trust Me " but when I submitted that they turned it down. I even told them I had the episodes on DVD and just got through watching them so I knew this for a fact. Still didn't matter. Look, I'm all for caring about the accuracy of your information but let's not be an obnoxious Hitler about it.

Yet, they accept some really dumb ones. One they accepted which really amazed me is that when Jessica comes to visit (in one of the episodes she appears in on Benson) she doesn't even mention to Kraus that she looks like Ingrid Svenson, Corinne's birth-mother in "Soap". How stupid is that? Actors differ from role to role all the time. You don't acknowledge them from someplace else. Did anyone ever tell Becker that he looks like Sam Malone from "Cheers?"

I loved TV Tome....I think tv.com would be better if these people would just lighten up a bit. It's not brain surgery, people, it's just TV. If a mistake is made it CAN be corrected. No need to get the panties all in a bunch.

I used to be the editor of Benson (Rob Case TV) when it was TVTOME.Com.

It was an incredible experience as people kept coming. But when TV.COM bought it from John the webmaster, they went over my detailed synopsis with recycled TVGUIDE listings from syndication, corporatized it by a bunch of elitist shut-ins who saw volume (Dollar signs) over substance, and deleted the names of those who contributed the information. Occassionally I visit TV.Com's corrupted version of my episode guides and see very few fragments left over from when I was in charge. I must say, now it's completely mediocre. Some day, I might reconstruct a new episode guide and post it at my Making Sense website in the Entertainment section.

I agree. That place went downhill real fast. I hate it and you can't rely on it.

I just wish he'd post more often. This board can really use his contributions. :)
