An original Not Ready for Primetime Player is headed to Lanford, just in time for the holiday season.

TVLine can exclusively reveal that "The Conners" has cast two-time Emmy winner (and SNL cast member) Jane Curtin as Doris Goldufski, mother of Dan’s wife Louise (Katey Sagal) and Jackie’s husband Neville (Nat Faxon).




In the episode, titled “The Dog Days of Christmas” and airing Wednesday, Dec. 7 (ABC, 8/7c), “The holidays are approaching and Dan meets his mother-in-law for the first time,” according to the synopsis. “Elsewhere, Darlene helps Becky with a parenting problem.”

The holiday installment doubles as the sitcom’s fall finale, before it resumes its 22-episode fifth season on Wednesday, Jan. 11.

Jane Curtin and Katey Seagal really aren't that far apart in age in real life. Jane is currently 75 while Katey is 68.

I just saw the episode and it was great. Jane Curtain did a great job as a crazy Midwestern lady. Katy SEgal is only like six years younger but looks so young and good, you can disbelieve that and Katey looks twenty years younger.

I have complained about the show but it has gotten better. It needed time to find its stride.
