I've just recently started watching Barney Miller, and I just love the show. I was a teen during its original run, and I don't recall watching it. It's such a clever, smartly-written adult comedy.
My question is this. I know Harris lost a court case where he had to pay a guy a large sum of money. What was the story with that? Did it have something to do with his book, Blood on the Badge?
Also, are any BM marathons on the horizon?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. :)

Yeah, a lawyer sued him for using a character that resembled him in the book, and won in court.
I used to watch barney miller when i was 6 ( i was so nuts) and i am so glad tv land brought it back! it hasnt been on in reruns out here since i was maybe 8 or 9.
i hope they show it over from the start again on tv land so i can record the first 60 eps, and i hope the stop skipping so many eps, too. it is one of the coolest shows in the history of the universe.

That's a good idea--I should record it. I wish they would run 2 episodes back to back. I wish they'd run a marathon.
I wish for it all, but I'll get nothing.

it used to be on twice as nice when it came to tvland. that would rule if tvland would do that again, and stop skipping so many eps - i mean, its on in the middle of the night, whats the point!

Wasn't that the reason Harris became Dietrich's roommate - he was broke and needed a place to stay??
