Gary Marshall was able to persuade ABC to give the show one more chance. When ABC told Marshall the show would be cancelled he was upset and told ABC that he will make one last change. He told ABC he would get Mork to marry Mindy and send them on the honeymoon to planet Ork and then have a baby played by Jonathan Winters. Winters never signed a contract to appear on Mork and Mindy only a verbal agreement. He decided to do the show because Robin williams was very fond of him and was a fan of him his entire life and inspired him to go into show business
