I am a big college football fan and watch the synopsis of most of the games the day after (Sunday) on Youtube or will watch a full game if it is my college or just a marquee game.

I like the Final Four championship format and wish it would stay the same. I strongly disagree with the NCAA expanding it to 12 teams. There is no need for this and a money grab. The teams play 13 games and more or less in November we can see which teams are going to make it. My observations...

The winner of the Michigan/Ohio State game. The winner will have to play the Big 10 championship against probably Illinois, but will beat Illinois (and cheers to the Illini which is historically a bad team to be good this year and Bret Beilema should win Coach of the Year in my opinion.)

The winner of Tennessee/Georgia. Tennessee after over twenty years finally has a good team. I am from Tennessee (didnt go to that school) and this team is the Tennessee of the 1980's/1990's. Welcome back Orange people. Either team should beat Alabama, Tennessee already did, although close and in Knoxville.

TCU from the Big 12. I like the Big 12 although now it has ten teams (which will soon change)

Clemson in the ACC if Clemson wins out.

The season shakes down to where there are four teams in the end. The fourth, you decide.

I think with conferences, there should be four conferences. Seems at the moment that the Pac 12 is having trouble, with losing USC and UCLA to the Big 10 which I do not agree with. But there should be four major conferences with 16 to 20 teams in four to five team subdivisions, with a subdivision championship game and then the conference championship game. I would merge the XII with the Pac 12, and maybe shuttle off two or three teams to the lesser conferences.

The other non Big 5, yet Division I teams from Conference USA, AAC, Mac and Mountain West should just come together somehow and have their own championship game.

I would bar any of the new four major conference teams into playing any FCS school. Enough of that follishness. The schools should only play their conference for nine to ten games and three teams from the other major conferences, and maybe two games from the lesser Division I conferences listed above.

I have no issue with the athletes making their own money, not from the respective school but from endorsements. Fine by me. Many hate the "transfer portal" but that is OK by me, let the colleges trade players they want and need.

Which is your college?

I went to the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). The team started somewhat strong reaching all the way to #7 in the polls but has a complete beakdown the last part of the season and is now unranked. Still 8-4 and good enough for a bowl but a forgettable bowl. I live in Asia and the games came on my time in the middle of the night early Sunday morning and was shocked in the Arkansas game, when the Hogs were up likt htree or four possessions. Team exposed and my opinion validated.

I kind of blame the "coach" Lane Kiffen. Kiffen was sniffing for another job towards the end of the season. I think part of the reason for the breakdown (and only part) was that the players knew that their coach might leave and just didnt give a total effort. Kiffen is a punk and not that great of a coach. He gets a lot of accolades which isnt deserved. For a 8-4 and 4-4 in the SEC he gets a new multimillion dollar contract. Must be nice. He fits right in with the "culture" of the school. An entitled guy who is way above his station.

I knew from about the fourth week that the team was not that good. Vanderbilt scored 28 points on them. The team had no defense. Sort of shocking that Ole Miss beat Texas AM who beat LSU which beat the pants out of Ole Miss. Texas AM has had an awful year and maybe LSU thought it would be a cakewalk. I dont gamble on sports but traditional thinking is this team beat this team which beat this team which should have a prognosis of what a game will be. Nope.

Ole Miss (U of Mississippi as a prefer to call it, (I went to this school and disliked it but my father wanted me to go there) 59 years without an SEC championship. Next year it will be 60 and will probably never win it. I truly dont care, it would be wonderful to see it but wont happen. In the NFL, I did see the New Orleans Saints win a Superbowl (with me making love to my wife at half time), this is good enough.

The National Championship will be Georgia and Michigan. Might be wrong. I have seen Georgia play. Michigan is very strong also. TCU and Ohio State will be cannon fodder. Ohio State shouldnt be it, but if not them, who? TCU deserves it because they shouldnt be jumped by Alabama or Tennessee who didnt have to play for a conference championship game. But I will give accolades for Tennessee Vols, they are back and this has been their best team in twenty plus years.

Ole Miss. huh? You said you don't follow the NFL, but I used to hate Ole Miss for NFL reasons. Then the Jets drafted Elijah Moore (even though they don't know how to use his skill set) and I'm now more neutral on them.

Miss ended up in the Texas Bowl. Yeah, not the dream one has at the start of the season.

No offense, but I do not, because the two teams already played one another and Michigan won (handily). Ohio State didnt reach the conference championship game but jumped ahead of USC who had to play a championship game and lost.

Like last year when it was Alabama and Georgia. Alabama beat Georgia in the SEC title game but Georgia beats Alabama in the National Championship. Ohio St-Michigan is THE rivalry game in college football. Even if they’re both 0-11 it’s a must watch.

Although maybe you’re partial to the “Egg Bowl”.

The 12 team playoff will still be played in the existing bowl games. They just won’t have their current affiliations, e.g. Rose Bowl, unless it coincidentally works out that way, won’t be Big 10 vs. PAC 12.

By the way, Georgia and Michigan have both opened at about a touchdown favorite in their respective games.

I live abroad in China and on Sundays I watch about 15 minute clips of games on Youtube. I dont know the outcome of the game, and for the most part, it beats watching a game for three hours.

I watch Michigan and Ohio State every year. It is probably the best classic rivalry game. I usually watch Big 10, SEC and Big 12. Not too much into ACC or PAC-12. I dont like that USC and UCLA are going to join the Big 10, but the conferences are not that grographical anymore.

Like I said, I went to the University of Mississippi. Usually by the end of the season, the Rebels are a disappointment and dont really bother seeing it and have never been to an "Egg Bowl" game. I sort of sworn off watching Ole Miss anymore because the teams are always a disappointment. Always. Some years there are flashes of something good happening but it never does. This is year 59 without an SEC championship. I doubt I will see one before I die. Or before Jesus comes back. Even if Jesus God was the Head Coach, the team would still be 8-4 or 7-5 and going to the Podunk Bowl. Like the son of the late former Rebels coach Billy Brewer said of the fanbase "They have champaign tastes on a beer budget."

Might as well be Michigan and Georgia and not play the other two games. Jim Harbaugh the coach of Michigan has been there for about ten years, but his teams were mediocre until last year. I read several years around this time of the year (December) that Jim Harbaugh needs to go. I didnt care but if I did, would have felt the same way, nice guy, alumni, famous name and all, but cant deliver. Well, the guy has finally delivered. Ohio State just kind of died at the end of the game and Michigan poured it on them. Rob Wolchek, a TV consumer reporter in Detroit would say "Ohio State, you are in the HALL OF SHAME!! (Youtube Wolchek. He is HILARIOUS. Start with "lost dogs" and go from there.)

Tennessee has had their best team in the past twenty years. Since I am from a rival SEC school and went to said school when Tennessee was much better, I didnt like them. But the past twenty years has been dreck until this year. Dreck. About three seasons ago, the team lost every SEC game, all of them, including Vanderbilt, Ouch. I have been to Neyland Stadium, it is HUGE (it is the second largest NCAA stadium after Michigan). I would say, and they do, that the fans there deserve better, but Ole Miss played Tennessee last year and the crowd went ape when Ole Miss got a disputed first down very late in the Fourth Quarter and the fans started throwing crap on the field. Bottles and beer cans mostly. Someone for some reason happened to have a golf ball and threw it at Lane Kiffen (unfortunatley missing him, Kiffen coached Tennessee for one season and then abruptly leaving). The strangest thing thrown on the field was a bottle of French's Yellow Mustard. I saw that game on TV and showed up close the garbage and the announcers, myself and thousands of other viewers went "Who in the hell takes a bottle of mustard to a football game??"

Illinois also gets an honorable mention. Best team from that school in many, many years. I asked once why Illinois wasnt a power like Michigan or Ohio State (Illinois being a large state with Chicago on top) and was told that the school is much more strict and restrictive on players and the powers that be there dont want to be a "football school" if that makes sense. Played Michigan down to the wire.

I also watched Jackson State because of Deion Sanders and that team was strong. But I cant blame him for leaving to go to Colorado. Jackson Mississippi is a dump! I know, I lived there for three years in the late 1990's. I did ask online, why is Colorado so terrible?? It seems that it would be a wonderful place. If I could go to college again and Colorado and Alabama were my choices, Colorado in a minute. Alabama is an ugly, flat, poor state of nothingness. Almost as bad as Mississippi. Colorado has gorgeous mountains, Boulder is a beautiful city (has too many "woke" morons that Alabama doesnt have however.) I was told from someone in Colorado that no one really cares about the team except for the students and some of the alumni. The city ignores them and the University gets a check. Maybe Deion can kick that program back into shape.

I have been reading Facebook the last couple of days and there are actually critics who are mad at Deion Sanders for leaving Jackson State, more or less of "you are turning your back on your people" BS.

I added that Sanders wanted to be a college football coach but had no experience and took the Jackson State job to get the experience. I dont think that Jackson State being a "HBCU" really played any part of it at all. Sanders did so well there and became famous and all the hype. I actually watched some games this year online and they should be in the FCS playoffs. Maybe they are not because HBCU's cannot compete at that level.

I lived in Jackson, Mississippi in the late 1990's and in many ways, it is not a good city, not all horrible but it is very poor and high crime. It is in my opinion a very boring city, not much to do there. I thought when Sanders took this job that he must really want this (to be a college football coach) to be a rich guy living in Jackson, Mississippi. Boulder, Colorado is the heavenly of heavenlies next to Jackson.

But as I have said before here perhaps, I have asked about why players wouldnt go to Colorado. I would rather go there than any SEC school because SEC school cities all suck and Colorado is beautiful. Was told by someone there that the community is very apathetic towards the football team, and only some students and alumni support it. Maybe Deion can change that. Dunno.
