The dawn of David S. Pumpkins brought a beloved character to Saturday Night Live. However, Tom Hanks’ return brings insight into SNL’s past mistakes.

I think Tom Hanks has a love of SNL and/or a good friendship with Lorne Michaels. Hanks is a top A List actor who pretty much does SNL for the hell of it.

He has had a long career but it would be nice for him to play a goofy, comedic character and he can easily pull it off. I have only seen him in one comedy and that was a Coen Brothers film with him playing the leader of a group of bumbling thieves.

I wish Steve Martin would do one more film of an idiotic character. He did a lot of that early in his career and in his stage act.
