Let's celebrate Mexico's Day of the Dead

At first glance it would seem sitcoms and death wouldn't mix. But there have many classic instances of dealing with death through humor. Let's see if we can name some.

First one that comes to mind is The Mary Tyler Moore Show and the Chuckles the Clown episode.

A couple from Larry David's corner of the world...

- The Seinfeld ep where George attempts to speed up the relationship between him and his girlfriend by accompanying her to the funeral of her aunt and gets into a fight at the wake and has that whole kerfuffle about the death certificate to get bereavement fare plane tickets.

-not a traditional sitcom, but there's a Curb Your Enthusiasm ep involving a friend of Larry's who commits suicide because the NY Jets are so bad he can't take it anymore. As a long suffering Jets fan I can really relate to and appreciate this one.

Nice thread!

Married with Children went for its usual desecrating way, with the death of the Mall's Santa in the Bundy's garden:

The Cosby Show tried to find a way to talk aboutdeath to little children:

Frasier to analyze it, as a psychologist, with its usual balance of fun and intelligence:

The less fun, and the most touching to me is how Roseanne depicted in the original series:

And also Mom addressed the issue a few occasion. Both Jodi and Alvin's death were dealt with the right tones.

Also Peterman's mother dying after hearing George's bank code.
Also the funeral hello from Alec Berg over the Rangers tickets.
Also the death of "Susie" at the J. Peterman catalog.
Also the death of Jerry's distant relative who had a pony back in Poland.
...and then there was the junior mint that kept the starving artist from dying.

The Andy Griffith Show , "Opie's Charity", Tom Silby was laid to rest by his wife Annabelle after allegedly being run over by a taxi cab in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Tom Silby: "All I did was go down to Charlottesville."

Andy Taylor: "Well Tom we all thought you was a lot further down than that."

Sorry if the quotes aren't exactly right.
