TV's longest running quiz show is getting a new home.
After 61 years on Washington, DC's NBC owned WRC, the long running quiz show It's Academic is moving to PBS station WETA.
Hilary Howard, who replaced long-time quizmaster Mac McGarry in 2011 will continue as host.
According to Matt Glassman of WRC, the company that produces It's Academic Altman Productions got a better offer from WETA to run the show several times a week while WRC's busy network sports schedule prevented them from doing so.
In addition to Washington, DC, It's Academic has been seen in Baltimore, Cleveland under the title Academic Challenge and in New York on WNBC-TV from 1963-72 which was hosted by Art James.
