He must have made a lot of money from that series. How many years was it on? The show was fairly forgettable. Its not in reruns now. It was kind of, sort of a copy of Diffrent Strokes, a cute black child adopted by well off white parents. I wonder if this show could even happen today, the "woke" would be screaming about a poor black kid being adopted by whites. White priviledge!

I guess Lewis wasnt screwed over like Gary Coleman was. Gary made millions and he was reduced as an adult to work minimum wage as a security guard. Maybe Coleman was a bit at fault for his condition, he could have went to college. Problem is that the guy was typecast as Arnold, and Gary because of his medical condition never physically grew up into a man (due to his kidneys). I guess Lewis again made out much much better.

There were articles about 20 years ago that declared him broke. No doubt he made lots of money but much of it disappeared. He may not be broke today but if you google you may be able to find some of those articles. Didn't he do some sort of bad celebrity reality show long ago?
Webster was in regular rotation on Antenna TV until this year. I dont know if they removed it or not. I never watched the show during its time but did watch a few episodes since it was in regular rotation on TV. It was a ridiculous premise. Its sad that TV executives had to bring in white parents again for a cute black kid. They treated him so weird almost like a pet. Bring in an all American Football NFL star and his wife to be the parents of a cute black kid who does not grow. Why could he not have black parents? I guess in the 80s we could ask why the major networks all had a black weatherman but no black anchors or why Silver Spoons had the black butler and the cute black friend. Its all so ridiculous looking back.

You can feel better now because virtually every new TV host is black. 70-80% of commercials have black actors in them (no hispanics or Asians, just black) and many local news shows in large cities have no white men in them at all.

I never watched Webster. I couldn't stand the sight of him mugging for the cameras. I just happened to see this in the most recent post spot.

I know white families at my church who have adopted black children. You probably think black people shouldn't marry outside their race either. ohno:

Just wow. You need to get a reality check. Even the creators of these shows said the same thing. Ask yourself why TV networks had rich white parents adopting cute black kids. The TV executives did not believe white America would watch a black family. This is fact, not my opinion. Both Different Strokes and Webster were before Cosby.

The moderators should take action against you for calling people racist names. Use your google search engine. Its not anything else had said including the people who acted on the show.

If this forum has a block feature, you will be my first and only block. You may be a child and I wont engage in a conversation with a child.
Sorry

SorryThat is hardly a fact about the executives' beliefs. Good Times, Sanford and Son, and The Jeffersons are 70s shows with black families that were popular long before Cosby came, also premiering long before Diff'rent Strokes or Webster ever existed. Julia about a black single mother even premiered in the 60s. Good Times, Sanford and Son, Julia, and The Jeffersons never would have been greenlit if the opinion you are incorrectly spouting was really true of network executives. It IS racist saying white parents shouldn't be adopting black children or portrayed like that on TV and only black parents are capable of raising them. I don't use that term lightly but your post was clear racism to me. Not that my age is any of your business, but I am long removed from being a child.

He did a season of The Surreal Life. That's probably what you're thinking of.

Webster is currently airing on Pluto.
