The monster cereals are a line of breakfast cereals produced by General Mills Corporation in North America. The line was introduced in 1971, and at various times has included five brands, each featuring a cartoon version of a classic movie monster: Count Chocula, Franken Berry, and Boo Berry, as well as Fruit Brute and Fruity Yummy Mummy.

There hasn't been a ton of controversies in the monster cereals history but it's a bit weird that there were any at all, especially involving pink poop and Dracula's medallion.

The monster cereals started as a year round product but in recent years have switched to a seasonal release every year for the Halloween season.

Every October it's always a sign that you know Halloween is just around the corner when General Mills debuts it's Monster Cereal line to get people ready for Halloween much like the countless Christmas commercials seen every December to get ready for Christmas. When General Mills debuted the Monster Cereal line in the 60's they knew how big of an impact they would become with colorful and funny commercials. When the first Franken Berry and Count Chocula commercial debuted in the 60's General Mills knew they scored a winner on their hands because not only was the commercial funny it was a way to sell a delicious cereal. Believe it or not this commercial was a favorite of my uncle and he memorized it by heart many times when it would come on. Soon after the success of those two cereals General Mills pressed their luck with Boo Berry and used the same thing as the previous cereals with a funny commercial with Boo Berry as the star and it worked. When Yummy Mummy "Fruit Brute" made it's debut they knew that this line of cereals would sell and would continue to air countless commercials throughout October and it's a huge profit for General Mills to do. But I do wish they would be easier to find because Monster Cereal is a special Halloween treat and the commercials are funny to see
