The new series — America’s Got Talent: All-Stars — will feature contestants from the past 17 seasons of AGT.

Executive producer Simon Cowell will judge along with AGT veterans Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel. Contestants will include “winners, finalists, fan favorites and viral sensations” from past years.

AGT host Terry Crews will also serve as host for All-Stars. The only member of the current lineup not moving over to All-Stars is Sofía Vergara.

The series starts production this month and will premiere sometime in 2023.

AGT is a format created by Cowell that launched on NBC in 2006, where it’s been a successful summer staple. The format has 70 editions around the globe. All-Stars is co-produced by Fremantle and Syco Entertainment, with Sam Donnelly and Jason Raff also serving as executive producers.

Ever since it's launch in 2006 for reasons unknown America's Got Talent somehow has become a smash hit every summer and just like American Idol America's Got Talent easily has turned itself into a ratings powerhouse every summer and has spun-off many versions of the show in different countries such as Canada's Got Talent and the original UK version Britain's Got Talent and with it's first spin-off show America's Got Talent The Champions while short-lived was a fine show but failed to be as successful. And when you take a very successful comedian and three of the best celebrity talents as judges the secret of why America's Got Talent is a smash hit is like creating a delicious soup and you can see why it's a smash every summer. With the announcement of America's Got Talent All-Stars I think NBC plans to air countless spin-offs of America's Got Talent year round not just the summer and ever since Terry Crews became the host replacing Nick Cannon I think it's because of Terry that the show has the power to stay popular and when you look at the past seasons going to the very first season when the late Regis Philbin was the original host and then replaced by Jerry Springer and then Nick Cannon the show was a surprise hit when Regis first hosted but then when Jerry Springer became the new host and Sharon Osbourne replaced singer Brandy as judge it was a hit. But how in the world Howie Mandel became a judge on America's Got Talent I cannot figure out and how he is still there is a mystery to me? Because I always thought Howie seemed out of place there and I think the only reason he became a judge on that show was because NBC gave him a chance to do America's Got Talent was because since Deal Or No Deal was cancelled in 2009 Howie needed to get a second show and so NBC offered the judging job to him. It is weird that Sofia Vergara won't be featured in America's Got Talent All Stars and I wonder who will replace her. But I expect this series to be successful when it debuts

BestieNo one is replacing her, this version will just have three judges.

America's Got Talent All-Stars will premiere January 2nd on NBC. I think they expect this show will be a hit and given the right promotion it will be the first hit show of the new year. Why I think it might do well is because when you have three judges in Simon Cowell Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel they make a smart dynamic duo that fits like a glove
