When “Beauty and the Beast” aired during the late 1980s, then-NYC real estate developer Donald Trump was an important and influential real estate developer in Manhattan.
I wonder if “Beauty and the Beast” producer and writer George R.R. Martin based Catherine Chandler’s unrequited lover on the future POTUS? Like Donald Trump, Eliot Burch was a highly visible and controversial boulevardier.
If Eliot had not died at the hands of the evil Gabriel, perhaps Eliot would have also eventually run for our nation’s highest office? Of course, the mullet-coiffed Eliot would have had to have lost that God-awful hair style of his and gotten a much more sensible crew cut, like former US presidential candidate, the always understated H. Ross Perot sported.
