In 1992 who can remember when a huge fun loving St. Bernard dog named after a famous composer captured the hearts of movie fans. That movie is Beethoven and when it debuted in theaters many people didn't think Beethoven would be a smash hit but it was indeed a smash hit and Beethoven became an instant celebrity dog. And the fun continued with the sequel Beethoven's 2nd which featured Beethoven and his girlfriend Missy becoming parents to adorable puppies and based on the success of the sequel Beethoven's celebrity status continued to rise when a Beethoven balloon was featured in the 1992 Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. I am amazed at how well the Beethoven franchise of movies still is going strong and Beethoven still ranks as one of the top celebrity dogs in movies
