Laff, the bastion of variety on digital subchannels, is airing a 4-hour marathon of The Beverly Hillbillies with the same episodes that air on most digital channels, like Retro TV, Circle and cable channel GAC Family. It doesn’t mean they are adding it permanently or that MeTV is (gasp!) losing the rights to it and all CBS shows, because they aren’t anytime soon.

Just wanted people who got Laff to know who don’t get MeTV or Decades who enjoy The Beverly Hillbillies. October 1st, starting at 6AM. Why, who knows.

Why? Cheapskates. They can fill time and it's all profit.

While I love the show BH replaced on Saturday mornings, Home Improvement, I wasn't a fan of watching another set of reruns of it. Still, I'd rather do that than watch How I Met Your Mother, which I regard as distinctly unfunny.

Now if Laff replaced that with public domain eps of BH... :)

Agreed. And they likely still edit it down to the usual 22 minutes even though there’s no cost. MeTV, Decades and the DVDs are the way to go for the early episodes.

Yes but it will only be that first season.

I think there are a few second season episodes too. I don't know where the cutoff point is.

Still public domain episodes and a bad look for a network like Laff.

It should have been an embarrassment for GAC Family, too.

JLTV and ZLiving as well.

Interesting.

I know it's probably discussed elsewhere, but what's the story on how the Copyright to some episodes of Beverly Hillbillies, Andy Griffith Show and others were lost?
