Hey everyone, even though I know I am getting up
in years (I'm 49), I seem to remember a sitcom
with a guy playing a governor, and having a
daughter played by the young actress Missy Gold.
I'd like to remember the name of that particular
show, even if it WAS short-lived. I don't think I'm going crazy. I have a focus on this because, if my memory serves me correctly, Missy Gold is
supposedly a sibling to Tracy Gold (of the sitcom "Growing Pains." Anyone can also feel free to
email me at: cgrange1@cox-internet.com.

The Show was Benson with Robert Guillaume and also had Inga Swenson as Gretchen Krauss and Renee Auberjonois as Clayton Endicott.

Thank you Lance. Although I do seem to
remember the show "Benson," I couldn't
remember if it was the one I had been
referring to with a "governor" and a
daughter played by the actress Missy
Gold. And YES, I ~DO~ seem to remember
the characters of Gretchen and Clayton.

Yep, it's definatly "Benson" which lasted 7 years (1979-86) on ABC as a spin-off from "Soap." Missy Gold played Katie Gatling, daughter of Gov. James Gatling (played by James Noble). The show focused on the day to day adventures of Governor Gatling's political partner, and best friend Benson DuBois (played by Robert Guilliame). Benson was James's cousin Jessica Tate's butler, and was sent to help the Governor.
