I think Mr.C honored the role of a father and husband extremely well, considering all of the trials and tribulations that he faced raising his family through the 50's. He did alot, considering he owned a small hardware store. Does anyone else agree or disagree?

I think he did a great job raising Richie. (Well, both he and Mrs. C.) And I think for the most part he was a good husband. Sometimes he talked to Marion like she was a child, but she didn't seem to mind. As for raising Joanie, while I don't doubt that he loved he very much and had her best interests at heart, it seemed to me, especially in the last few seasons, he'd fly off the handle at her alot and Fonzie would have to step in to make peace. I mean, I know it was the 50's/60's, but he wouldn't let her get a job, get a car, go back to Chicago after she'd already spent a few months there...he didn't want her to date the same guy for too long...I mean, geez! Richie never got that kind of crap from him.

Mr. C - How are you going to support my daughter? How are you going to live? How are you going to eat?
Chachi - Mr. C, after we're married something is bound to come along.
Mr. C - Yeah, and then you'll have to feed that too!

The episode during the 11th season, where Richie came home from the army, when Richie told him that he wanted to move to California, to be a movie director, both Mr. and Mrs.C ordered him to stay in Milwaukee, to take the job that Mr.C had in mind for him, and it made Richie very angry, that he took his frustrations out on everybody, ESPECIALLY, THE FONZ(he smacked Fonzie)
